A Week In The Transition Age: Launch Reflections and NYC Takeover

Celebrating a surreal debut week, an amazing community welcome, and taking Iris Vale to the streets of Manhattan.

The first week of March has been nothing short of surreal. After more than ten years of developing the world of 2159, officially launching Book 1 of the Transition Age Trilogy into the world was a milestone I will never forget. Putting a story you have lived with for a decade in your mind out into the public is a vulnerable process. Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past week and say thank you to everyone who has stepped into the Transition Age with me.

A Warm Welcome to the Bookish Community

One of the absolute highlights of this launch has been connecting with the bookstagram and broader bookish communities. Releasing a debut novel as an independent author can sometimes feel like shouting into an empty void. You hope the story resonates, but you never truly know until it reaches the hands of readers.

The reception has been overwhelmingly kind. Seeing readers share their excitement, post photos of the book, and start asking questions about the vertical megacities of Chicago has been wonderful. Your support proves that there is a massive appetite for science fiction that asks difficult questions about the systems governing our lives. Thank you for making this indie author feel right at home.

Transition Age NYC Billboards Stability Is A Lie Campaign

Taking Over Manhattan

To support the launch, I explored some incredible marketing opportunities. Following the distribution of my official press release, I also deployed a guerilla marketing campaign directly to the streets of New York City.

Having the Transition Age cover displayed on digital billboards right in the heart of Manhattan was a truly incredible moment. I was able to shine a light on this indie project just steps away from the major, traditional publishing houses. Iris Vale’s story is entirely about challenging massive and entrenched systems. Seeing her silhouette and the world of 2159 lit up above the bustling city streets felt like a perfect reflection of that very theme. The photos from that campaign are moments I will keep with me forever.

Transition Age Now Available To Request On NetGalley

Now Available on NetGalley

The journey is just beginning, and I want to make sure the book reaches as many passionate readers as possible. To keep the momentum going, I am thrilled to announce that Transition Age is now officially available on NetGalley.

If you are a member of the platform, an avid reviewer, educator, librarian, or a book blogger, you can now request to read and review the first book of the Transition Age Trilogy. I would be honored to have you join Iris’s journey to unravel the truth as she scales the soaring vertical cities of this world

Thank you to all who have supported me during this unforgettable launch week: friends new and old, family, the community, and my new readers.

Sincerely,

Tyler Corriveau
